The Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing aka CCLL is the level of daily carbohydrate intake that will allow overweight individuals doing Atkins to lose weight. This number varies for individuals and is usually found by gradually increasing the carbohydrate gram amount allowed in a day by 5 each week during Ongoing Weight Loss. Once you hit a plateau and no longer lose, subtract 5 from the current daily Carbohydrate amount and the result is a person's CCLL.

For Example

During Induction, Mike eats 20 grams of Carbs a day. Once he reaches OWL he adds 5 more grams a day every two weeks as long as he's losing. Which is to say that by week 4 of OWL, Mike's carb amount should equal 30 grams a day. If Mike reaches 70 grams of carbs a day and stops losing for a minimum of 4 weeks he must subtract 5 grams from 70. Mike's CCLL is 65 grams of Carbohydrates a day.
