How Do I Add a Recipe to Atkinspedia

This is pretty simple.

  1. Create an account/Log-in
  2. Type in the recipe name in the search window or in the field under the Recipe Portal
  3. Copy all text from the current recipe and paste it in the edit box of the recipe on Atkinspedia.
  4. Follow the suggested format for Recipes if you like. (If not, someone else will do it later)

Suggested Recipe Format

A cooking table should be on the right of the page. See Recipe Infobox

Title (optional tagline here to describe the recipe. without parenthesis)

== Instructions ==

Place instructions here, Remove terms like "I used.." or "You'll love..." Instead of "I used", try "Use." Wikify links here as well. For instance, Roll the spices in the [[ground beef]]

(If the recipe has a credit, place it here as such. For example, Submitted by AtkinsAllTheWay member Spudmasher)

[[Portal:Recipes|Recipe Portal]] (A link back to the recipe portal)

[[Category:Beef Recipes]] (A link back to the category for Beef Recipes. If you have a Poultry Recipe, say so here)
[[Category:Baking Recipes]] (A link back to the category for Baking Recipes. If you have a Stovetop Recipe, say so here)
[[Category:OWL Recipes]] (A link back to the OWL recipes. This is either Induction, OWL, Pre-Maintenance, or Maintenance)
[[Category:Recipe]] (A link back to the category for All Recipes. Never changes)

Recipe Infobox

Fill out the infobox as stated below and you'll have yourself a nice ingredients and basic information sheet:

{{cooking_table<nowiki><br> <nowiki>|Image= If there is a picture, upload it to Atkinspedia first then link it here (i.e. meatloaf.jpg)if not, leave empty
|netcarb= Enter a number here, no need to say 4 carbs, just put 4 if that is the case.
|phase= What phase is the recipe acceptable (either Induction, OWL, Pre-Maintenance, Maintenance) leave blank if unsure.
|method= (Either Baking, Broil, Stovetop, Saute, Fry, Microwave, no Cooking Neccessary, etc.)

}}

Note: Each Ingredient should be wikilinked (i.e. [[Ground Bee]]f<BR>[[Black Pepper]]

Measurements

To ensure that all links on the recipes and articles link correctly, the following procedure should be used for listing measurements in the cooking table:

These links should only be listed once, thereafter, use the abbreviation only. otherwise the table is filled with too many links.

  • Pound = [[Pound|lb]], lb should be used afterwards.
  • Cup = [[Cup|C]], C should be used afterwards.
  • Teaspoon = [[Teaspoon|tsp]]., tsp. should be used afterwards.
  • Tablespoon = [[Tablespoon|tbsp]]., tbsp. should be used afterwards.
  • Gallon = [[Gallon|Gn]]., Gn. should be used afterwards.
  • Quart = [[Quart|Qt]]., Qt. should be used afterwards.
